Starting this off with a WTF i've encountered

I was at Wegmans shopping with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago. We finished and i go to sit in the car while he goes to put the cart away cause we arent inconsiderate asses who just leave their carts to fly everywhere when the spot to put away the carts are only 2 parking spots away. Ok ok, i've been guilty of leaving a cart here or there, but its absolutely absurd when you watch someone who had parked next to the cart spot and they just leave their cart in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD without atleast having the decency to atleast put it where there are no cars driving. (true example)

anywho, i sit there and look up and what do i see? a bird. wait, wait, just follow me here. I know what youre thinking, "a bird? so what!" but this was not the usual pigeon or seagull that usually infest our parking lots. This was a genuine African Gray Parrot sitting inside the persons car, chilling on their steering wheel.

I've never seen this before. Now, i dont think this was stupid for the person to love their animal so much to bring it out with them. Kudos to that bird. But I'm trying to think over the logic. People bring their dogs out all the time because dogs enjoy being out, they want to spend time with their owner, and (in most cases) they aren't going to go back home to be caged in a 5x5 ft area. Did the owner bring their bird so it wouldn't get a case of cabin fever? Hopefully this bird is the type that sits on an open perch in the middle of the living room and no the type that gets enslaved in a cage while the owner, (which i can imagine is probably an elder lady) sits, sips tea, and knits her grandchildren sweaters they will never wear, but will keep in their closets forever because when "salvation army" day comes, they can't shake the feeling of guilt off the sweater.
But i will say, i am curious to see other animals to be able to feel the freedom of sitting in the car while their owner goes shopping. Maybe a cat? a fish? a bearded dragon? the anticipation...
